NO BOUQUET PLEASE, GIVE GREEN CERT!
Public relations Council of India (PRCI) which just held its 11th Global Communication Conclave, tied up with NGO Saytrees for its campaign. Saytrees will plant a sapling on the outskirts of Bengaluru in the name of each guest to whom PRCI gave Green certificates instead of the traditional bouquests.
ISRO Chairman A S Kiran Kumar, IndiaFirst Life Insurance Managing Director and CEO R M Vishakha, noted author, columnist and writer Anil Dharker, Akshaypatra Foundation Vice-Chairman Chanchalapati Dasa, CEO of World Academy of Art & Science Garry Jacobs, and Karnataka Ministers Priyank Karge (Tourism) and Anjaneya (Social Welfare) and Sahitya Academy award winner Chandrashekhara Kambara were among those who received the PRCI Green Certificates and appreciated the gesture.
Each tree planted now will have the capacity to absorb up to one tone of carbon dioxide during its life time.
This year, during the 12th Global Communication Conclave at Pune, PRCI tied up with PATPERT to plant medicinal plants in the name of each guest presented with the Green certificate.
Subsequently, the campaign has been extended to Earth Day celebration at Mumbai Press Club, Lions Club event at Kaikaluru in Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh and so on.
